Request the current datasheet and relevant test reports for the selected grade. Confirm the fire-classification standard and service-temperature limits before using the listed values in a project specification.
For thermal comparisons, match the declared conductivity, test conditions and thickness using the XPS R-value and lambda guide. For load-bearing floor specifications, review support, loading and moisture requirements; the listed compression range alone is not a long-term design load.
Select the Right Board Construction
Uncoated XPS foam board should not automatically be treated as a ready-to-tile shower substrate or a complete waterproofing layer. If the project requires a coated tiling surface, review the cement-coated XPS tile backer board and the required installation system.
For floor, wall, roof or refrigerated assemblies, confirm the support, moisture detailing, facing materials and operating conditions. Specialized roadbed or hydroponic uses require a project-specific material suitability check.

Ordering Extruded Polystyrene Boards in Bulk
For distributor replenishment or a fabrication project, list each board configuration separately. A single total quantity does not show how many boards are needed in each thickness, grade and surface finish.
- Board schedule: length, width, thickness, quantity and whether the order is for full boards or cut parts. Attach drawings with tolerances for shaped or machined pieces.
- Grade and documentation: required thermal and compressive performance, the applicable test standard and the exact grade to be quoted. Ask which datasheet and reports cover that configuration.
- Surface and further processing: select skinned, unskinned or grooved boards. For lamination, identify the facing and bonding process so the proposed surface and a sample evaluation can be discussed before the order.
- Packing and delivery: destination, handling constraints, configuration labels and any required separation of sizes within the shipment. Confirm packing quantities, minimum order and lead time in the quotation.
