The two aluminum-sheet-faced boards below list different panel lengths. Both product pages list 25–50 mm thickness options and a 16 mm pipe option. Select the panel size around your circuit layout; confirm routing, pipe fit, aluminum thickness and the supplied grade separately.

1200 or 1500 mm boards: compare the layout, not just the count

The linked 1200 × 600 mm board has a gross rectangular area of 0.72 m²; the 1500 × 600 mm board has 0.90 m². For an illustrative 90 m² floor, this is 125 smaller boards or 100 longer boards before cuts, unusable edges and spares. These are gross-area estimates, not completed layout quantities.

A longer board reduces the nominal piece count, but a narrow room or frequent turns can change cutting waste. Straight channels, return zones and manifold feed zones must fit the circuit drawing. Use the straight, return and feed-zone quantity guide to allocate each profile.

For restricted renovation height, use the full floor-height calculation. For timber, carpet or an underlay, use the floor-covering thermal resistance guide; changing the finish can change the heating design even if the pipe still fits.

How should I compare XPS and EPS heating panels?

Compare the complete floor systems: panel format, insulation thickness, pipe diameter, groove or fixing pattern, support layers and finish compatibility. The foam name alone does not determine which system fits your project. Read the XPS versus EPS heating-panel comparison before choosing.

Can tiles or timber be installed directly on a grooved XPS panel?

Do not assume direct installation is suitable. Confirm the substrate, support, covering or load-distribution layers and bonding method for the chosen floor system. A grooved heating board is not automatically a ready-to-tile waterproof backer board. Use the panel, pipe and floor-finish compatibility guide to review the assembly.

Is an overlay heating board a structural floor board?

These grooved XPS heating panels are components of a specified floor assembly. A foam compressive-strength figure does not establish a spanning capacity, a long-term design load or approval to omit support layers. If your purchase specification calls for a structural underfloor heating board, send the required support arrangement and assembly performance for technical confirmation before selecting a product.

For a 25 mm panel enquiry, identify the panel thickness separately from the complete floor-height limit. Start with the 1200 mm aluminium-faced panel configuration and include every required layer in the floor build-up; 25 mm does not describe the installed floor height.

What should I send for a heating-panel quotation?

Send the floor plan and pipe circuit layout, pipe outside diameter and spacing, panel thickness, available floor height, final floor finish, aluminum facing requirement, quantity and delivery destination.
