Cement-Coated XPS Tile Backer Board
This tile backer board combines an extruded polystyrene foam core with fiberglass mesh and a thin polymer-modified cement mortar coating on both faces. The coated surfaces form a substrate for a specified tiling assembly, while the XPS core provides an insulating layer.

Wet-Room and Bathroom Applications
Applications include tile substrates for bathroom walls and floors, bath enclosures and other suitably designed tiled features. Board selection is only one part of a wet-area installation: joints, fixing points, penetrations and connections must be detailed using the compatible waterproofing system and installation instructions.
A board on its own should not be treated as proof that the completed room is watertight. Confirm the required joint materials, adhesives and substrate preparation for the selected assembly.
Support and Floor-Heating Compatibility
- Specify whether the board will be used on a floor, supported wall or framed construction.
- Check thickness, fixing method and support requirements for the proposed tile finish.
- For floor heating, confirm compatibility with the heating system and all bonding or covering layers.
- For shelves, benches or enclosures, use a suitable structural detail rather than inferring capacity from the foam-core compressive value.
