Double-Layer EPS Panels for Hydronic Floor Heating
The BWE-16 series combines a shaped plastic surface layer with an EPS insulation base. The raised stud pattern provides a layout for heating pipes. These are underfloor heating panels, not XPS tile backer boards.
This page covers BWE-16 and BWE-16A. Both are listed at 1346 × 840 mm, but their total thicknesses and insulation layers differ. Select the complete panel configuration for your planned floor assembly.
Model Dimensions
- BWE-16: published total thickness of 39 mm with a 20 mm insulation layer.
- BWE-16A: published total thickness of 30 mm with a 10 mm insulation layer.
Pipe compatibility must be confirmed for the exact model supplied. Request the current datasheet and check your pipe outside diameter and circuit spacing against the panel geometry before ordering.

BWE-16 Series Configuration Approval
Keep BWE-16 and BWE-16A on separate order lines, with the published 39/30 mm total heights and 20/10 mm insulation layers identified. The table lists 20 mm and 10 mm pipe entries despite the series name. Request a current drawing and pipe-fit sample; the model name is not approval for 16 mm pipe.
Compare the BWE-20 series when reviewing the different published footprint. Confirm usable coverage and pieces per pack, then state board quantities, packing labels and destination for the selected model.
Request a BWE-16 series quotation. Use the underfloor heating purchase checklist for a combined materials enquiry, and compare the EPS floor heating panel range for other specified configurations.
Confirm the pipe-diameter entries and applicable test conditions with the current product documentation before specifying the panel. Do not infer pipe fit from the model name alone.
Plan the Floor Assembly
Coordinate the panel with the substrate, perimeter details and specified screed or covering layer. Allow for the full raised profile when calculating finished floor height. Compatibility with a particular covering material or pipe layout needs to be checked as part of the selected heating system.
For a quotation, provide the model, floor area, heating pipe specification, planned floor build-up and delivery destination. Confirm usable coverage and packaging before finalizing the quantity.
